Anti-static agents are used to either manage static charges during various stages of processing or to provide long-term static protection based on end-use applications. Anti-static agents can be divided according to their application into two groups: external and internal antistatic agents.

Qualistat range of short and medium-term anti-static additives are also known as migrating anti-static additives. They are used in applications where anti-static performance is required for up to 12 months. They can be added to plastics as a masterbatch, during compounding or directly during extrusion to reduce electrostatic attraction in polymers. Qualistat range of additives are recommended for use in Polyolefins (PP, PE), ABS, PVC and PET etc. In addition to anti-static property, they provide excellent lustre to substrate, smooth surface finish with minimized dust accumulation.
